Then drive to visit Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, in a grand scale and of great importance in Tibetan Buddhism, thus known as the “lesser Potala Palace” in Yunnan. Appreciate its Tibetan castle style architecture and the preserved Buddhist cultural and artistic relics.

Enjoy relaxing time in the old town of Shangri-La, named Dukezong or Moon Light City. It was vital to the Ancient Tea-horse road for caravans travelled further to Tibet and Southeast Asian countries. Idle about and find the world’s largest prayer wheel on the top of Guishan Park.

    Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Drive to Deqin and visit several of Shangrila’s premier scenic attraction and cultural villages en route.

Arrive Benzilan Village beside Jinsha River, once a bustling trading post on ancient Tea-horse Route with glorious past. View the sublime Big Bend of Jinsha River. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Benzilan.

It is the lowest altitude glacier in the lower latitudes of the earth, and the biggest and longest glacier in Yunnan, stretching between 2600m and 6740m above sea level.
