    After a safe air journey to Kunming, be met and warmly welcomed by your private local guide at the arrival hall of airport. Your experienced driver is waiting for you, with a comfortable, well-maintained vehicle. Start your private guided Yunnan tour with the first stop of the visit of Stone Forest.

    Drive about 1.5 hours (120 km) to the Stone Forest, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage formed 270 million years ago. Walking through the Stone Forest, you will marvel at the natural stone masterpieces and are bewitched by the intricate formations. The magnificent and strange landscape creates countless labyrinthine vistas.

    Return to downtown Kunming and enjoy Yunnan cuisine in a traditional wood-and-stone courtyard restaurant at Shiping Huiguan. Then check-in the hotel.

    Practical Tips:

    You are suggested to wear hiking shoes or jogging shoes, as there are quite a lot of stone steps inside Stone Forest scenic area.

    In Kunming: After having breakfast at hotel, transfer to the railyway station for your morning bullet train to Dali. Your guide will escort you until the security check.

    In Dali: Firstly, you will take a walking tour to Xizhou Ancient Town's oldest dwelling houses and enjoy a traditional three-course tea ceremony. In north of Dali, Xizhou is one of the most important old towns in Dali and also in China, and a center of Bai people since Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). The three-course tea is served by local Bai people to entertain the honorable guests, and is possibly one of the most evocative teas you have ever tasted.

    Then we take a boat ride on the pristine Erhai Lake, the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan province and one of the must-visit sights. On the Erhai Lake, local Bai people do fishing in a traditional way - fish are still caught with the help of cormorants. Sit back and lost yourself in the beautiful natural scenery.

    After lunch we will travel to Dali Ancient Town, close to Erhai Lake, and with Cangshan Mountain as a backdrop. It is a highlight of the tour. In this over 1200-hundred-year-old city, we'll visit its galleries, marble cutters, local artisans, and traditional antique and textile shops to travel back in time.

    Dinner will be preceded by a lecture on the therapeutic and religious qualities of tea and tofu. So that you can understand the different cultural implications of these two common Chinese foods.

    Our dinner will be arranged in a local vegetarian restaurant. For a special Dali culinary experience, historical and nutritional introductions will be given to each unique dish.

    With quiet surroundings and cozy accommodation, your last night in Dali should be relaxed and comfortable. After a sound sleep and a hearty breakfast, enjoy a short walking tour of Dali Ancient Town to discover the historical estate and corners. Afterwards, we travel to Zhoucheng, renowned for its colorful tie-dye cloth and clothing. Moreover, the traditional customs of Bai ethnic people are still well preserved here, so Zhoucheng is honored as "the living fossil of Bai nationality".

    We will visit one of the ancient courtyards where local Bai people tie the cloth, paint patterns, and make the various tie-day products on their own. After a Bai-style lunch with local specialty dishes and snacks, we will explore the old town and enjoy a hands-on cooking experience with the chef or enjoy a cycling trip near the old town at your leisure.     Your 4 days Yunnan tour in Kunming and Dali comes to the end. Enjoy your breakfast, and then your guide and driver, with your private vehicle, will escort you to the airport and fly to Kunming, to connect with another flight to your next destination.
